This is my finished version of my second article, i have set up a team meeting where a member of the Muslim community meets with a member of the Non - Muslim communtiy and they have an opportunity to quiz each other about each others religions. They had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the heritage of Islam and contemporary Islam within the 21st century and how it has changed. The Members involved had created the questions themselves. I have produced this article to make a statement that both Muslims and Non - Muslims can live in peace and that if they just communicate they could learn a lot about each others religions and opinions. They have both asked each other 5 questions about the opposite persons religion, i have also included some funny facts about each member to add a humourous side to the article and i have used the specific colour codes of my magazine so that the article is recognisable. I believe this sends a very powerful message to both the Muslim world and the Non - Muslim world that Islam is a peaceful religion and that all world religions can get along in perfect harmony. The media consumption and the language is generalised so that all types of audience could read this article and go away understanding what was said.

What I Have Done So Far & The Next Step... - (UPDATE) 4!!!
I have now produced my Two Mock Ups for each piece of work, i believe that they have turned out very well, they are both very different pieces and i believe that this is good because it will give me more of a choice when i decide how my actual piece will look like. I must look at both magazines and see what the ethics of both magazines are and see what media elements i can take from oth magazines, i want my magazine to be both serious and also for a Non - Muslim audience as well. The next step for me is to take all of the research i have done, look at all the mock ups i have produced and make a finished product.
Mock Ups - FRONT COVER

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my first mock up of my front cover, it is relartively plain, in the sense that i do not really use any colour, however, i have decided to go for this look becuase i have not seen any magazines on the market like tis one before, the question mark also catches the audiences attention as well, when they see the question mark they may think about what type of magazine this is and this may draw the audience into the magazine as well. the headline "the truth", may be a little too serious if i were to aim this magazine at its intended audience which is both Muslims and Non Muslims.
Mock Ups - CONTENTS PAGE

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my contents page, i decided to make a contents page like this because i felt that it was fairly simple yet effective, everything is evenly spread out onto the page and i have used simple colours such as black and white because i feel that the image is not the important element here but the content is more important. all together i have made 27 pages.
Mock Ups - ADVERT

This is my first draft advert, it fits in with the theme of my simple magazine, i have stayed with the colours black and white which is the theme throughout this magazine, i have put the word "ISLAM" all around the page and in even bigger letters "CURIOUS & WANT TO KNOW MORE", this makes the audience feel intrigued as they wish to know about my magazine, this advert is also advertising a subscription to my magazine as well.

Mock Ups - ARTICLE

This is a first draft of an article i have done on terrorism, i have tried to tell the truth about islam and outline the key concepts the simplest way i can, i believe this article to be of relevance to the times as we are trying to combat such aspects in society today.

Mock Ups - MIRACLE VS COINCIDENCE

This is a very good page, i may consider using this page in my actual magazine as it is very powerful, this is something that everyone would be interested in and not just Muslims. This makes the audience intrigued and interested.
Mock Ups 2 - FRONT COVER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my second mock up of my front cover, in contrast to my first draft i use a lot more colour, i choose to do this as it is different from my last cover, i have chosen to put a palestinian flag in the middle as this would catch the eye of both the Non - Muslim and Muslim audience and also the fact that it is a very debatable topic around the world and has been going on for years, the masthead "salam", is botha greating and also means peace which suggest this is what islam is but is being portrayed wrogly within the british media, i have also decided to use no images of people which could suggest a slight hint of seriousness, i have taken this idea from the Al - Jumuah magazine.

Mock Ups 2 - CONTENTS PAGE
This is my second mock up for my contents page, i decided to make a contents page like this because i felt that it was fairly simple, everything is easy on the eye, i have used cotrasting colours such as white, black and blue and have produced 27 pages.
Mock Ups 2 - ADVERT
Mock Ups 2 - ARTICLE
This is a second draft of an article. i have based it on the holy month of Ramadan, i have tried to tell the truth about islam and outline the key concepts of ramadan for begininers and in such a way that the Muslim audience does not feel patronised, i believe this article to be of relevance to the times as i wish to send out a message to the world about the holy festival which comes around once every year, this is an example of easy media consumption as the language used and the pictures suggests that it is aimed at all types of audience.

What I Have Done So Far & The Next Step... - (UPDATE) 3!!!
I have just posted my product research and have anotated it for both 'Emel' and 'Al - Jumuah', i am planning to base my magazine on 'Emel'. I have also finished my Institutional Research as well for both Magazines, i will hopefully produce two Mock Ups for each piece of work i have done and hopefully in the future produce my final pieces, i will use all of the knowledge i have attained from both magazines to try and produce a serious Islamic magazine which can be understood with ease by both Muslims and Non - Muslims.
Product Research – AL - JUMUAH MAGAZINE
This is a front cover from the magazine of 'Al jumuah' magazine, they do not use a cover star who, but a relevent picture of the Kaa'bah with hearts pointing in the direction of the Kaa'ba , which draws the audiences attention to the front cover, the title also catches the audiences eyes as it contrasts with the back of the front cover, but this front cover sends a very powerful image to the Muslim target audience.
Product Research – AL - JUMUAH MAGAZINE 2
Product Research – AL - JUMUAH MAGAZINE 3
Product Research – AL - JUMUAH MAGAZINE 4
This is an advert from 'Al - Jumuah' magazine and is a free giveaway subscription service of an islamic photo book of mecca and medina, this may also suggest the type of target audience they aim their magazine at, the images used of mecca and mediana within the advert are very powerful and the readers can relate to it. the number to subscribe is free and to call is free and these are all selling points for the audience as this would make them interested.

Product Research – EMEL MAGAZINE 3
This is a contents page from Emel, they seem to cover a diverse amount of topics such as social topics like football which would beof interest to not only Muslims but Non - Muslims as well, they seem to use pictures of people's faces. which possibly some of their competitors may not do, their contents page also seems much more relaxed and has less content thatn other rival Islamic magazines.

Institutional Research – EMEL
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is general facts about Emel, they tell us their address for the U.K, the telephone number, the email address, their website if you wish to visit it and the main countries they are based in.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel That this media institution is the correct one for my magazine, simply because this is a less serious islamic magazine and more of a lifestyle magazine, although it does cover religious topics, it also covers lifestyle issues as well, which is both important for Muslims and Non - Muslims, i feel that this is the type of magazine a Non - Muslim can pick up and feel comfortable with reading. I feel that it is aimed at both the Non - Muslim and Muslim audience and that the media consumption can be absorbed by the Muslims and the Non - Muslims as the language used is very generalised. This magazine is very good as they consider the ethics, they also have images of Human Beings on the front cover. which emphasises the less seriousness of the magazine. They also seem to hit the generic conventions of an Islamic magazine and they represent Islam and proliferate Islamic knowledge in the correct manner which is exactly what i want to aim for.
Institutional Research – EMEL 2
Institutional Research – EMEL 3
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a news review from the independent, they talk about the september 2005 issue. The reviews they have given it are good, the magazine went mainstream and they suggest that this was the first glossy Muslim Lifestyle magazine in britain, they suggest that it went mainstream simply due to popular demand, they also suggest that this an opportunity for Muslims to integrate with other cultures as they are seen as the 'other' and the 'outsider', this is a chance for the true Islam to come out and for diverse members of the audience to learn about Islam, they also suggest that it is aimed at all types of audience from Muslims, to Non - Muslims, women and men. This is very similar to my magazine and this is why i am choosing this media institution to base my magazine on, their ideologies are very similar to mine, both the representation and the ethics they consider are excellent, this is why i beleive that this makes a good media institution for my magazine.
Institutional Research – EMEL 4

They are Advertising their magazine and the space available for adverts within their magazine. they suggest that they reach the widest audeience out of any islamic magazine today and that it would be the best option for the audience to advertise in their magazine.
Institutional Research - PAST ISSUES
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a print screen of some of the past issues from the company Emel, all of the magazines have similar layouts and are easily recognisable by the audience, they consist of the same structure. I must produce my Prodyct with the same style and layout throughout so that it is recognisable by my target audience.

This refers to the Muslim population within america and suggests that they also aim their magazine at the american public, however i feel that this magazine is not aimed at the Non - Muslim American public and is aimed at the Muslim public, i wish to change this and aim my magazine at both, i will do this by considering diferent types of media consumption and trying to generalise my magazine, adding possibly more images to illustrate my point and try toput my information across so that it can be understood a little easier.
Institutional Research - AL - JUMUAH 10
Institutional Research - AL - JUMUAH 11
Institutional Research - AL - JUMUAH 12
This is a print screen of the online store from the Al - Jumuah website, you are able to browse the website with ease and are able to look at the online store, you can purchase books and magazines about things such as Tajweed and the Quran, this would give the audience diverse information about Islam, however i have found that the problem with this is that the language within these books and magazine seems to be aimed at the Muslim market, they seem to assume that the purchaser must be Muslim or at least have some background knowledge about Islam. This has helped me understand that i must produce a magazine that uses simple language, but is also aimed at people who are Muslim, i will produce a magazine which will be for begginers and Muslims at the same time and this will attract both the Non - Muslim readers and the Muslim readers.
